According to the late Richard Feynman; an American physicist, Nobel Prize winner and famously recognized for what has become known as the “Feynman problem solving algorithms” once stated:
“The moment you write down the problem clearly, your mind starts thinking over the problem. It takes few hours to few days (sometimes). You have to sleep on it. If the problem is tricky sometimes it takes few days. But if you think hard, sooner or later you will find a solution. The moment you get the light bulb moment, write down the answer.”
Since science is the most objective methodology, that as a society, we use to get at the truth. I thought I would use Mr. Feynman’s problem solving technique as a more objective way of analyzing our problems, and to arrive at a viable solution.
The FIRST step in the “Feynman problem solving algorithm” is to:

I am both frightened and shocked, by our responds to the economic challenges facing us today as African Americans, as well by the so-called solutions that are constantly being put forward as viable answers to the urgency of our economic problems. Most, if not all, are solutions that maintain the status quo of double digit unemployment or regulates us to a position of economic meritocracy. Are we really willing to accept double digit unemployment and these low paying sub servant jobs as the standard for “the best we can do”?
The fact is that a job (any job) by its very definition denotes a state of dependency, and in the face of what we are hearing about jobs, I am shocked by what appears to be our continuous need for sport and play, while the world frets over its economic certainty.
As African Americans we will only improve our economic(…)

A Job – This is where most of us start, but by no means is it an ending. A job gives the illusion of security, but your employer can take it away from you…in some cases at will. Many people think they need nothing other than this, but don’t trust your boss to make you rich, or even keep your pay at the same level as inflation.
Self-employment – This is both an intermediate step and a long term path to wealth. People who chafe under the strict rules of employment generally enjoy working for themselves more, and the added responsibilities involved make for a great transition towards business owner. But security is still dependent on YOU…the moment you stop working in self-employment, the money stops coming in.
There is a revolutionary new shopping and business center which has been specifically engineered to meet the economic challenges facing us as African(…)
