    With the American economy in crisis the most urgent question that should resonate within the minds of African Americas should be “exactly what does that mean to us”. Once again, my emphasis is on us, because it is our collective condition that will ultimately define the reality of what our situation will become as the current economic distress plays out, and let there be no doubt, it will. The complexity of individual reality is subject to so many random variables that human consciousness has removed it from the realm of predictability to the realm of prophecy or fortune telling.  No matter how dire or thriving the environment becomes for a people you will always have those individuals, for whatever reasons, that will either excel or fail within

    In my last article I posed the question “Where do we go from here”. I did so because the answer to that question is the foundation to our actions. Without this acknowledgement there is no action or purpose to the direction of our lives, both individually or collectively. After all, If one is satisfied with their circumstances, there is no motivation i.e. action or purpose to go from the place of their satisfaction. Therefore it can be concluded that the force behind change is dissatisfaction.  With these immutable laws of reason in place, in conjunction with the statistical reality of our circumstances (ref: where do we go from here).     History has always been the best reference that objective or scientific thinkers apply for predicting unknowable future events. In other words, if it occurred in the past, it has a high degree of occurring in the future. And, according to another scientific law, the law of inertia, most probably will unless acted upon by some unbalanced or outside force. At this point, you may be wondering what these laws of science have to do with economics, as well as the title of this dissertation “where do we go from here”. I make these references because as African Americans, the facts seem to demonstrate that we have been robbed of our collective consciousness.
